Winter weather panic
It was an interesting day for us yesterday. We started out basking in the sun and warmth but then a cold front moved through and the temperature plunged 20 degrees in about 15 minutes and our humans closed the windows, cutting off all of the great sounds and smells from outside. The weather human on TV (they all seem to be women here) had said something Monday night about possible freezing rain for Tuesday evening, but I don't know what that means and don't really care since I never venture outside.
Our humans went to the store yesterday to get us some more of our new favorite canned food and came back to tell us that it was a very funny experience. It seems that people here were behaving the same way they used to in our old home whenever bad weather was forecast. The clerks at the grocery said that the store had been mobbed since Monday night and was running low on most items. Our dad thought it was very silly, since the forecast also said that after a chance of freezing rain overnight, the high Wednesday was supposed to be near 60. As it turned out, there was no freezing rain (there has been a long term drought here for the past 3 years) and it was indeed 60 this afternoon. Just another inaccurate forecast leading to an irrational panic.
